Our Christmas in pictures

The last couple weeks have been so full.  We have put aside school and spent our time on scrumptious holiday crafts and play.  It has been such a blessed time and for us is still not over.  Stephen has the next couple weeks off and we get Papa time!

Hadassah was enthralled with our tree and the presents and thankfully she had no idea what the presents were so we had no attempts at opening them ;)

The kids made their yearly ginger bread houses which is always a favorite.

And to make for a very, very happy Papa - we had an overabundance of snow :)

Each year our little ones pick a siblings name out of a hat to shop for that year.  Then they get to open them Christmas Eve.  It is fun to see how well they know each other!

This Christmas Eve we tried making rag curls in Isabella's hair.  Well, it definitely worked, with some surprising results.  She and her daddy loved it though.  I didn't know if I would ever get it straight again :D

Christmas Morning

Those are some curls baby girl!

Time to open Stockings
The boys called Isabella "Shirley Temple" which made her day.

The biggest present of the day did not make it into pictures.  Caleb didn't have any presents under the tree.  And while he was ok with it and all smiles - it was for a specific reason.  After everyone opened their gifts Stephen pretended to be surprised that Caleb didn't have one under the tree, then after some hemming and hawing he pulled out the first clue to a scavenger hunt.  Caleb flew through them, faster then we thought he would, and at the end became the proud owner of his first rifle :D talk about a beaming young man.  He had been saving for 2 months to buy his own .22 while Stephen had been plotting and purchasing and modifying.  Now when he attends and works at Appleseed he will have his own rifle to work with.

18 Weeks - already!

Hi, I figured I am long overdue for a pregnancy update. My belly is growing at an ever-rapid rate :) We cheat and do find out the sex of our baby. Stephen would open his Christmas presents the day after Christmas ~for the next year ;) if he could.

SOOO . . .

We are having a BOY!

Which makes my husband very, very happy. He says that we are done with girls because it is too hard for him not to spoil them. He turns into a total softy when it comes to his little girls. Not to mention, "they need more bodyguards", he says.

I thought this was so funny. I asked Bailey to take a belly picture for me and he forgot the rest of me.

We already have a name picked out but that will wait for another post ;)
All in all, I am feeling much better though tired. Titus and Hadassah have both become obsessed with my belly. Titus understands and is always hugging the "baby" and talking into my belly button. Hadassah points at my belly and says baby all the time but I don't know how much she understands. I think she may have a rough transition when the baby comes. She is my first that gets jealous when the older kids snuggle with me :/ Though she does love babies.
I found a great midwife who might make it to my birth . . . she will be in Europe until May 6th and I am due May 12th. And I usually have my babies 2 weeks early.
We are so very excited to add this blessing to our family!

My Liitle Girl turned 5

How can it be that my little girl is now 5 years old!

This is the moment she opened her pink pocket knife. She knew she was getting it and had been talking about it for weeks. 5 years old is the magic number in our home to get your own pocket knife and she told Papa about a month ago that hers of course needed to be pink.

She got to use it right away to open her present from Grandma Twinkles :)

. . . which was a Beautiful tea set that she loves!

Our family is very much a board game family and Isabella is still not quite able to play most of them so she got her own game.

Then what girl's birthday would be complete without a manicure and pedicure? This was the first time she painted her own nails and because it is her birthday and because it came in a nail kit - she got to paint her nails blue :/ which she had been wanting to do for her brothers.

She did a pretty good job  :-)

I am loving having big boys to blow up balloons now!

Happy Birthday baby girl!!
